The WingTite Shower drain is designed to replace leaking drains in plastic and fiberglass shower stalls without removing the shower.
The WingTite drain is designed for 2″ ABS and PVC drain pipe. After removing the existing drain by following the detailed instructions provided, the WingTite drain is installed, All from the top, no below access is required!!!
The WingTite has an O-ring that seals on the existing standpipe and (4) “wings” that extend under the shower hole to secure the drain to the shower base, much like an electrical wall box. Both the O-ring and Wings features are patented, available only from WingTite!

What was your R&D process for WingTite?
“I looked at standard products currently available, made sure I could make this specialty part fit in the available space for traditional drains. It would, so I put it directly into 2D CAD (which I’ve been using for over 26 years), then converted it to 3D CAD and had a solid 3D resin model made.”
Why “wings” as securing devices?
“Wings gave me the ability to accommodate the greatest amount of variation in shower pan thickness and construction (fiberglass, molded, silverstone)”
Why use an O-ring?
“There was a tremendous amount of design work to get this perfect. I have extensive previous with hydraulic system design. Eventually I went with a softer than standard O-ring sitting in a groove smaller in diameter than normal. This was the trick, as it allowed for a much greater range of fitment to accommodate wide variation in pipe size and angle.”
What materials is WingTite made from and why?
“The main body is made of PVC. This was chosen to best accommodate the largest amount of municipal building codes. WingTite complies with all zoning codes following the UBC (Uniform Building Code). The wings are made of extruded 6061 aluminum, as it exhibits superior grain structure to cast 6061. The O-ring made from buna-nitrile elastomer, chosen for its excellent durability. The screws used are 318 stainless steel, chosen for excellent corrosion resistance. The grate is made of a 300 series stainless, chosen for corrosion resistance and nice appearance.”
How many WingTites have been installed?
“Roughly 14,000 so far.”
What has the success rate for the product been?
“When it’s properly installed, the WingTite is completely reliable.
Of the 14,000 sold only 3 were found to be defective and they were replaced free of charge (that makes a success rate of 99.978%).”
